Don’t run with scissors. Don’t leave the front door open, we’re not air conditioning the whole neighborhood. Pick a channel and leave it there. Always wear clean underwear. These are just some of the lessons that stuck with me as a child. Granted, I now make it a habit to jog around the neighborhood that I intentionally air condition every day wearing dirty underwear and holding two pair of scissors; but I digress (oh come on, it’s a JOKE mom, I only carry one pair). The transition from life without worry to the “real world” can be somewhat daunting. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone put together a few lessons so we didn’t have to figure them ALL out on our own?
