It’s been said (yet, I’ve found no actual research) that a lot of traffic to blog sites is by other bloggers. While it’s true that if you take an group of niche sites, you’ll find a certain amount of “recycled content” throughout the blogs, there is a lot of original content out there that keeps me from thinking that statement is TOTALLY true. Now, from the “practice what you preach department”, we finally have some advice/suggestions FOR bloggers, and how to use a GTD-esque system to make your on-line life a little easier. I started doing some of these things weeks ago with some of my other blogs, and can tell you that in my case, it has helped somewhat.
Activity Tracking
August 29, 2007I’ve been looking for a program that would allow me to keep track of all the tasks/activities I have to do in a given day, allow me to set specific time restraints for them, and not be a total bear to use. Well, LifeHacker found it for me. I’ve been an iGoogle user since pretty much the beginning, so this was a welcome find for me.
Online GTD (or GTD Online)
August 29, 2007I talked about internet productivity a few days ago, and the habits that you’ll need to keep consistent. Now that you have those down (you DO how those down, don’t you?), I thought I’d stir the pot a little and give you some online GTD ideas. There are sites allover the place, personally, I use Google Calendar and HiTask for (just about) all my online GTD needs.
GTD Vertical Mapping
August 28, 2007This concept was a little scary to me, as when I was first introduced to it, there wasn’t a whole lot of in-depth explanation to it. However, I found this breakdown, and it became quite a manageable, and to be quite honest, fun exercise for me. If you’re in a life-goal-plotting mood, check it out.
DIY GTD System
August 27, 2007If you’re not a strict adherent to the GTD book, and need to do a little tweaking to the system, why not just put the extra effort in and do it yourself? Here is a plan (in 3 parts) for making your own GTD system.
