Let It Go..

September 5, 2007

The line between work and home, on and off, productive and downtime can get really blurry really easy.  The problem is twofold.  First, your productivity will wane from the lack of focus, and your home life, and possibly health, will take a hit from lack of relaxation and taking the time to recharge.  Our friends at Lifehack.org have come to the rescue with a set of “decompression instructions” that help out a great deal.

Be a Winner!

September 3, 2007

Part of being a GTD guru and having a happy life is knowing when, and how, to have fun.  I LOVE going to carnivals.  The food is awesome (how do you think I keep my girlish figure?!) and the rides are fun.  I do not, however, like spending every last dollar I have in order to win a stuffed animal for my girlfriend that would normally cost me about $0.50 at the local MegaMart.  Thanks to LifeHacker and website Blifaloo, now you can “scam the scammers”!

Hard Habit to Make

September 3, 2007

I am NOT a morning person.  I never have been, and most likely never will be.  However, because of the nature of blogs and when the average reader is perusing them, I can’t keep my normal vampire-like schedule.  All is not lost, however.  Waking up is (apparently) just another habit you can train yourself to do.

Brain Training

August 27, 2007

Recently I’ve started seeing commercials for a little game that’s played on the DS that sports itself as a “brain training” game. Now, I don’t have a DS (and really have no desire to get one), so this little game is useless to me. But, for those non-gamers among us, there is hope! There are a few resources out there that can help you feed your head (no, not in a better-living-through-chemistry way) and have fun while you’re doing it.

Getting rid of carpet stains

August 23, 2007

Thank God for hardwood and tile floors.  I haven’t had carpet in my home in many years, and one of the reasons for that was I simply got tired of stain removal, vacuuming, cleaning and shampooing it.  It seemed that the more time and money I spend on making it look good, the more it got messed up (and trust me, you can spend a pretty penny keeping carpets clean).  For those of you who still have it (and there’s nothing wrong with that), here are some tips on how to keep it clean on the cheap.  I for one, still suggest getting rid of it :)
